Support the Europpen Campaign STOP VIVISECTION

Starting from the 1st of April 2012, due to citizens’ initiative and to the possibility of a million signatures gathered, the European citizens can contribute directly to the legislative activity of the European Union.

Launched by a team of elite scientific personalities, the STOP VIVISECTION campaign uses this new mechanism to offer citizens the opportunity to express their opposition against experiments on animals and to ask the EU for a new scientific protocol, one that should be advanced and able to protect both animal and human rights.

Experimenting on animals is unacceptable, as it generates suffering and continuous pain in sensitive and defenseless beings. The moral reasons (shared by 86% of Europeans, according to a poll conducted in 2006 by the European Comission) are also endorsed by the scientists who consider that the “animal model” has no predictive relevance for the human one and no scientific value.

Experimenting on animals constitutes a danger for human health and for the environment; it slows down the development of new biomedical research methods; it blocks the efforts to discover solutions that are much better, faster, more economical and more relevant offered by the new technologies aimed directly at human problems.

A million signatures must be gathered by the 1st of November 2013 in favour of the STOP VIVISECTION campaign.

The European Comission offered a secure system for the signatures. The European citizens can register with a personal identity card and sign online here:
