“Doggie, doggie” Association, The Association for Animal Protection “ROBI”, The “Take-me-home” Association, The Caleidoscop Community Development Association, The “You are not alone” Association, The “Doggie-Dog” Foundation, The National Federation for Animal Protection and the Romanian Federation for Animal Control and Protection invite you

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 9:00AM at a rally

Purpose: To speed up the debate and implementation of the legislative project that modifies OUG 155/2001 regarding the handling of homeless dogs, which anticipates the construction of shelters for dogs, cats and large animals, the sterilization and release of homeless animals, the identification, registration and sterilization of animals who have owners.
Location: Bucharest, Parliament, the Chamber of Deputees entrance, 2-4 Izvor Street, sector 5 (in Izvor Parc).

The legislative project was unanimously adopted by the Romanian senate in December 2007, however, since then, it remains “blocked” by the Commission of Public Administration of the Chamber of Deputees, with the official excuse that there are other urgent matters to attend to. The reality: some mayors have pushed against this legislation, pleading instead for a return to euthanasia, and others for the collection and placement of all animals in the extermination camps under mayoral jurisdiction. Don’t forget: This law is the only “umbrella” of protection for ALL homeless animals. It is the only way to definitively solve the homeless animal problem. If you no longer wish to see suffering dogs in the streets and in the camps under mayoral jurisdiction that often function based on made-up “laws” which are illegal, please participate in this rally. Your PRESENCE in large numbers is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

Please forward this invitation to friends and family!

foto_miting_micPlease come to our meeting – all of you who have been bitten and bothered by packs of homeless dogs in Bucharest, as well as those who are animal lovers and do not wish to see them homeless, and especially those who understand that as long as we do not eliminate the real cause, namely the abandonment of animals on public property, the homeless dog problem will never end.

We would like to inform you that Monday, April 13, 2009, between the hours of 12:30 and 16:30, the Association for Animal Protection – ROBI will hold a public gathering in front of the Bucharest City Hall on the sidewalk near Cismigiu Park.

The purpose of this public gathering is: to support the the project/decision regarding the detainment and reproductive control of dogs and cats in Bucharest as agreed to by ONG and accepted by the General Mayor, an option not accepted by the general councilmen PMB.
